|Some recordings, coming soon. Eventually an album!
Friday, March 12th, 2010
I have been keeping busy recording music at my small, but effective music studio in my room. I will be playing my own arrangements of traditional songs on Mandolin and Guitar. Irish Jigs, Waltz’s, and blazing bluegrass standards, as well as versions of some songs written by my favorite song writers. I will have many guests on the recordings, pretty much any of my musician friends that happen to stop by and want to lay down some tracks. Including my father Jeff Cohan, Keegan O’Reilly, Dave Cardello from 3 Foot Swagger as well as Patrick and Andy from The DustUp. Let me know if you are interested in recording some acoustic music? It is a work in progress but I will upload some songs to the site as they get finished up. The recording will be acoustic, I am really trying to capture the essence of the jam sessions and song writing collaboration’s that I think sound good, but soon enough you will be able to judge that for yourself.

Today I am writing to say regretfully that I am not playing this weekend at the Black Diamond Grill which was posted earlier. Andy will be out of town, and I am not able to make it but Patrick Haynes will be playing a solo show so go check it out. Patrick can play any instrument but will be playing acoustic guitar and singing tomorrow night.

So last Friday at Durty Kelly’s was a blast for me. It was great that so many friends and family came out to the show and supported Dave Desmelik’s music. We played no covers and the crowd still had a good time and listened to our music. Dave did a great job playing his songs and giving us room to improve in them. Also Andy Morrison did a great job organizing the whole thing, (and teaching me all the songs). Can’t wait to do it again!
